Cambodia has a couple major bus companies operating between main destinations but at least in the capital it\'s hard to find the right bus to the right destination as Phonom Penh missed to bring up a centralized bus terminal yet. So every bus company is operating their buses in front of their own offices and sometimes from 2 different sites, what makes it even harder to understand. Places for buses are Orussey Market and Sorya.
Sihanoukville and Siem Reap have in the meantime bus terminals which are still a bit far from the rest. Bus companies still operate their buses from all their own head offices and make stopovers at the bus terminals when leaving and arriving the city. Mekong Express has the newest and most convenient buses and minivans, Sorya is known for operating to most destinations in country. Buses operate in PP from several places. Sometimes from the own busstop in front of the head office. Some of them from Orussey market. Another companies operate some buses from Central Market ( Psar Thmey ). Quite difficult to find the right bus in city. It\'s still the same in Sihanoukville with the difference that all head offices are within a 500m distance on Ekareach main Road before and after Total gas station.
Phnom Penh offers boat transfers to Siem Reap and neighbouring Chau Doc in Vietnam, which are highlights in traveling.
The Phonom Penh airport has intenational flights but it\'s main hubs are Bangkok for getting to Europe, Taiwan for US and Singapore/KL to the south. Siem Reap has with it\'s 2.5 million yearly tourists in the meantime intercontinental direct flights.
You got high speed 3G internet connections when being within cities giving you depending on the venue up to 6MBit/s highspeed internet. But as soon you leave cities it will go back to Edge what means the whole thing delivers you 256kbit/s or less. Don\'t expect too much if any bus operator had the cool idea to install a personal hotspot inside the bus for you. Hopefully all those bus companies once have the smart idea to provide a Wi-Fi hotspot inside their buses for those people arriving in country and still don\'t have any Khmer simcards in their phones. So if one of those bus companies gives you an internet connection in the bus, don\'t be that smart and make heavy downloads nor Voice-IP video conference calls and leave a bit of bandwidth for others. You can think yourself how slow it\'s dropping down when 40 people in a bus are using a 256kbit connection. Hopefully the Mobile providers install soon antenna to provide people travelling with what they are used to in their home countries with in the meantime Gigabit 4G connections on the go. Between Sihanoukville and Phnom Penh 3G is going back to EDGE the whole distance. About another distances we have no infos yet but will provide it as soon once somebody has the idea to feed us with news. As far as we know internet traffic is going to zero when going northern from Phnom Penh up to laos. If someone is having a Khmer simcard he can give a personal hotspot free for others. It\'s esay on iPhones where it\'s already installed and just has to be activated in the settings, on Samsung you can install the little app \'Portable Wi-Fi hotspot\'. Hope that speeds the process a bit up that soon all those buses are having funky hotspots on board for all those wanna send a Viber message home when going over borders.
